As you all should know by now, the next Geekdinner 9.10 will be on October 27. We’ll be eating at the wok restaurant Chess Cafe Gent, Ottergemsesteenweg – Zuid 802, 9000 Gent – phone 09 338 89 99. Coming through Sint Pieter’s station, you can take bus 65 “GROOTHANDELSMARKT”.
Entrance & drinks starts at 1900, be sure to arrive no later than 2000. As for dinner, one size & price fits all menu was choosen. The all-in price for the evening is 43 EURO, that’s the “Formule Koningin” group menu with a little upmark for extended drinks during 19h-20h
Part of the buffet is also vegetarian.
To get yourself a seat, put your name on the wiki list, and then to confirm your presence, deposit 43 EUR on my euro-account BE20 0355 6561 8256 or old school 035-5656182-56 (Fortis) before October 19. This will allow me to confirm the number of seats to the restaurant, and will save us the trouble of changing money for half an hour at the end of the meal. No in time and correct payment, no reservation please!

If you want to volunteer to handle the admin stuff, pick the restaurant in your favorite city, and make arrangements for a menu, …. please let me know in the comments. I’m all willing to do it in Ghent, but I’m less familiar with restauration in other provinces.
After that, we’ll pick a date and then after that you’ll be able to subscribe to the event.

Now that everybody has lost his excess holiday weight, it’s time to gather again for a nice meal amongst geeks.
On March 31, 2009, at 20:00 local time, we’re going to De Troubadour, one of my favorite destinations for business and pleasure. It’s on walking distance from the station of Antwerp-Berchem, and there’s a private parking lot on 20 meters distance.
This will be our menu (in Dutch):

The normal price for all this is 52 eur, but we got a group discount and only have to pay 45 eur if we pay in cash.

This will allow us to confirm the number of seats to the restaurant, and will save us the trouble of changing money for half an hour at the end of the meal. If we run out of seats, it’s the date of your deposit that counts.

Update: There’s a vegetarian alternative too. Just indicate this on the wiki, and the chef will prepare a vegetables-only menu for you.

Update: The maximum capacity of the restaurant is 32 people. Don’t wait too long to register!
Sigining up is closed, following geeks will attend Geekdinner.be 8.10 on friday 24/10, making an attendance of 25 people! Make sure you’re name is on the list if you expect it, or vice-versa. Reservations are at 19:30. Please make sure to arrive on time, as place is only guaranteed until 20:00.

Location: Kris suggests going loco in Mexico at Pablo’s in the center of Ghent. Seems very fine by me.
As you all know, this is about us geeks getting together and get dinner. No talks (except maybe some rants from digi-god), no goodie bags, and you get to pay your lunch yourself. Bring along whoever you want, as long as he or she fits into Nerdville.
